organized pantry.

Be sure to stock all of these with
quality foods, which provide

The pantry should provide a wide

vegetables and fruits are out of
season, you can use canned or
frozen fruits and vegetables as a
substitute.

There are times that canned foods
can be substituted for fresh
foods, without hurting the recipe,
and still save you lots of time.

For instance if a recipe calls for
chopped tomatoes, you can use
canned tomatoes rather than take
the time to chop fresh ones.

Start building your pantry with
the basics that every recipe calls
for, these include sugar, salt,
oils and flour, these items will
need to be replaced regularly as
you run low.

There are many items you can stock
in your pantry that are
specifically created to minimize
the number of steps you have to
take when preparing your recipes.

Some of these include, biscuit
mix, pancake mix, frozen shrimp
that are already peeled and
deveined, and bottled sauces.

called for specifically in a
recipe they can be used as
substitutes.

white

*Pasta and noodles, various kinds

*Sesame and peanut oils

*Extra virgin olive oil

*Various vinegars, red wine

but there are some wonderful
flavored vinegars on the market

*Condiments, marinades and sauces

*Breadcrumbs

*Vegetables and fruits, canned,
dried and frozen

*Baking ingredients such as
cornmeal, coconut, honey, syrup
and nuts

*Herbs and spices
